It's Doug, Not Dough

I was minding my own business. I dropped some work shirts off to the dry cleaners, and I noticed that when I picked up some other shirts, they had my name listed as Dough Johnston. The girl behind the counter couldn't have been over 16, and when I explained that I would like my name changed on the future reciets, she smiled, looked at my belly, laughed and said she would.
It is funny how one little letter can change the whole meaning of something.

Okay, I've tried to comment twice now without success. I hope three really IS a charm!

As I've been trying to say...I named the hero of my fourth book Doug. Problem was, two out of every three times I typed it I ended up with Dough. It wasn't subliminal, I swear. It's just the way our fingers are trained to work. Halfway through the book I changed the guy's name to David.

Not that I'm suggesting that, of course. :)

And you're so write about letters making all the difference. Mark Twain said that the difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and lightning bug.
